Summary

Stone hut circle forming part of a prehistoric settlement 350 metres north-west of Yellowmeade Farm. Diameter 6.4m. Double orthostat wall 1.4m wide, 0.8m high. A visually impressive building. The partition running through this building from north-west to south-east measures 1.4m wide by 0.5m high and is of rubble bank construction. The door faces 170 degrees, measures 0.6m wide and is lined on both sides. This hut is butted by the enclosure walling. (17/08/1950) SX 5641 7452 Hut C. One of a group of 16 hut circles and an enclosure. Diameter 8.5m, wall height 0.4m. Condition good. The hut circle is bisected by a low wall of stones, aligned north-south, which divides the circle into two compartments. The entrance is to the south on the west side of the straight wall which ends about 1.0m short of the south side of the hut circle. The circle butts against the west wall of the enclosure.
