Summary

Stone hut circle forming part of a prehistoric settlement 350m north-west of Yellowmeade Farm. Diameter 5.4m. Double orthostat wall 1.2m wide, 0.8m high. A 196 degree facing gap may represent a doorway. Low grass and rushes.

Full description

Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1950, SX57SE15, Hut L (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV271768.

The following hut circles were found in addition to those previously shown: -
(16/11/1950) SX 5631 7454. Given the letter 'L'. Double walled type. Diameter measures 6.5m, width of walls 2.0m, height of wall 0.5m. In good condition; many large slabs used in building the walls which are partly turf-covered. Entrance on south side.
