Summary
Hut was excavated by the Dartmoor Exploration Committee in the late 19th century. Hut measures 3.4 metres in diameter, with rubble and double orthostat wall 1.2 metres wide, 0.6 metres high. A 195 degree facing gap faced on the west represents an original doorway. A porch consisting of three large slabs leads south from the east side of the entrance. A pit 1.8 metres by 1.2 metres by 0.3 metres deep against the inner north wall may be the result of partial excavation. Grass and rushes.

Full description
Baring Gould, S., 1898, Fifth Report of the Dartmoor Exploration Committee, 103 (Article in Serial). SDV337066.
Hut 3 was also excavated by the Committee. Measuring 3.3 metres in diameter, it has an entrance facing south. The only finds made were a flat river pebble and charcoal.

(25/8/1950) One of a group of 17 hut circles, given the letter 'C'. Double walled type diameter 4.5 metres, wall width 1.25 metres, height 0.4 metres, composed of turf-covered stones. Condition fairly good. Entrance on south side.
