Name:Pillow mound 360m west-south-west of Legis Tor

Summary

Pillow mound survives as a 17.4m long, 5.6m wide and 1m high, flat-topped, oblong-shaped mound of soil and stone surrounded on four sides by the 2.6m wide and 0.8m deep ditch from which construction material. A clearly defined shallow gully leads south-west for 7m from the lower end of the mound. These gullies have traditionally been interpreted as drainage ditches, but they may also have served as preferred access routes for rabbits and vermin.

(22/02/1993) Pillow mound in enclosure (see related record) forming part of Legis Tor Warren.
The pillow mound survives as a 17.4m long, 5.6m wide and 1m high, flat-topped, oblong-shaped mound of soil and stone surrounded on four sides by the 2.6m wide and 0.8m deep ditch from which construction material. A clearly defined shallow gully leads south-west for 7m from the lower end of the mound. These gullies have traditionally been interpreted as drainage ditches, but they may also have served as preferred access routes for rabbits and vermin.
