Summary

Stone hut circle linked to western wall of enclosure. Appears to pre-date enclosure boundary. Terraced into hillslope. Simple plan and rubble bank walling. Internal diameter 4.2 metres with walls 1.3 metres wide by 0.6 metres high with an entrance to the south-east.

(SX 5762 7076) Stone hut circle linked to w wall of enclosure. Appears to pre-date enclosure boundary. Terraced into hillslope. Simple plan and rubble bank walling. Internal diameter 4.2m. Wall 1.3m wide, 0.6m high. Doorway to south-east.

This monument includes an enclosure, ten stone hut circles, a clearance cairn and a length of field boundary situated on a gentle south west facing slope of Raddick Hill overlooking the valley of the River Meavy. The stone hut circles are composed of stone and earth banks surrounding an internal area. Nine of the huts are circular in plan and one is oval. The internal diameter of circular huts varies between 2. 6metres and 4.7 metres. The oval hut measures 2.7 metres long by 1.3 metres wide. The height of all the surrounding walls varies between 0.4 metres and 0.6 metres. Three of the huts are linked to the enclosure walling and appear to pre-date it. Seven of the huts have visible doorways and one has an annexe.
