Vis=27/8/1993(horner) area of whetstone mining visible beneath mature conifer plantation. Intermittent line of collapsed working running ne-sw visible c 30m into plantation. At n end signs of recent subsidence of possible pits. At s end an area of level ground and terracing, possibly working area. Other shorter stretches of collapsed shaft noted running off this platform area on same alignment (horner). Alignments of pits or collapsed shafts visible on raf 1947 ap prior to afforestation (aph).
