Summary

Part of the settlement to the south of the road. Measures 3.0 metres in diameter internally and walls survive to a height of 0.5 metres and width of 1.4 metres. An entrance gap exists on the southern side of the circle.

Full description

Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1950, SX57SE19 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV219145.

(21/11/1950) Hut Circle S (SX 5552 7486) is of double walled type, measuring 4.5 metre in diameter, with 1.25 metre wide walls, remaining up to a height of 0.4 metres. It is a small circle, composed of large turf covered rocks, with an entrance on the south side. In good condition.

Hut circle within a large partially enclosed settlement. Terraced into the hill slope and is of the simple plan; single and double orthostat walling type. Interior is oval, 3.5 metres by 2.5 metres and is defined by a 1.0 metre wide wall standing up to 0.6 metres high.
