Plot 523 is named as Kiln Park on the Cornworthy Tithe Apportionment.

A field named Kiln Park in the 1844 Tithe Apportionment contains a sub-oval pair of scarps, 4m high, which result either from the construction of a platform on the north-facing valley side, or from the extraction of material. The western half seems subsequently to have been used as a pond, which involved construction of a U-shaped length of bank. These earthworks were interpreted as a fishpond by Windeatt and Watkin.
