Full description
Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1950, SX57SE20, SX67SE20 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV276586.
Visited on 16th June 1980. Centred at SX58587244 is an open settlement of 39 huts covering nearly 5 hectares of a heather-covered south-west slope between 360 metres and 388 metres OD. Some huts are densely overgrown and in poor condition but all appear to be of Type 2.

This monument includes a stone hut circle lying on a west facing slope overlooking the valley of the River Meavy and forming part of a large unenclosed stone hut circle settlement situated between Devil's Bridge and Hart Tor. The hut is terraced into the hillside and is composed of a stone and earth wall surrounding a circular internal area. The interior of the building measures 4.3 metres in diameter and the 1.1 metres wide wall stands up to 0.2 metres high.
