Summary

Road bridge over remains of bude canal.1819-23, restored c20 by james green, engineer to the bude harbour and canal company. Concrete roadway carried on 4 closely spaced cast iron arches with cast iron centring and wallplate, wooden post and rail parapet, coursed local stone abutments. Illustrated as moreton bridge in harris and ellis. This is one of the few surviving features of this remarkable piece of engineering, notable for its use of inclined planes. The canal closed in 1902 (doe).
