A scatter of prehistoric flints was found here (tm 282 : thorney close) by mrs n. Pearce.

A total of 1082 pieces was collected (597 flint, 484 chert and 1 portland chert) including, flint: 28 blades, 7 awls, 48 scrapers, 7 notched, 1 possible rubber; chert: 1 hammer stone, 1 complete bulb, 26 scrapers, 12 blades, 8 notched, 3 crested blades, 4 awls.
