Full description
Anderson, I. K., 1906, 11th Report of the Dartmoor Exploration Committee, 109, hut 44 (Article in Serial). SDV337055.
One of a group of hut circles at Watern Oke. Hut 44 is the most charmingly situated of the whole settlement. Its internal diameter measures 10 feet (3m), height of wall 2.5 feet (0.66m). The entrance was at the south, facing the river, the fireplace at north-east; about 24 cooking stones found.

(1992) SX 56418338 Hut circle terraced into the hillslope. Simple plan and single orthostatic walling type. The interior measures 3.7m in diameter and is defined by a 1.5m wide wall standing up to 0.75m high. The doorway faces south. Excavations by the Dartmoor Exploration Committee in 1905 revealed a fire-place close to the north-east wall and about two dozen cooking stones.
