Summary

One of a settlement at watern oak. Hut 64; diam 5.18m. A good circle, no entrance. Cooking and rubbing stones; neck, lip (or handle) of a jar, and pieces of flint were found (anderson). Vis=estimated -/-/1992 (gerrard) hut circle terraced into the hillslope. Simple plan, single orthostat and coursed walling type. Interior measures 4.8m in diam and is defined by a 2m wide wall standing up to 1.2m high. A small rubble cairn, measuring 1m in diam and standing up to 0.2m high, lies up against the interior edge of the s wall, and probably represents a spoil dump from the excavations by the dartmoor exploration committee in 1905. This work recovered cooking and rubber stones, a sherd of pottery and pieces of flint (mpp).
