Full description

Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

Boundary stone shown as 'B.S.' on 19th century map on the east side of the road to the north of Whiteley Cross.

Unknown, 1975, Ugborough Parish Checklist (Worksheet). SDV340848.

Boundary stone at Whiteley Cross. Situated on the east side of the road, a few metres north of Whiteley Cross which is marked by a single fir tree. The stone marks the boundary between the two parishes of Ugborough and Modbury. Smooth cut with letters 'U' and 'M' incised on the appropriate sides. Almost certainly a 19th century placing. The stone is 0.3 metres high by 0.25 metres wide and 0.15 metres thick with letters 0.1 metres long by 0.09 metres wide.
