Name:Hut in enclosure north-east of Leather Tor

Summary

Hut circle attached to the inner face of an enclosure (MDV50104). Terraced into the hillslope, and of the simple plan and single orthostat walling type. The interior measures 3.4 metres in diameter and is defined by a 1.4 metre wide wall standing up to 0.9 metres high. The doorway survives as a buried feature. This hut is attached to reave (MDV50106).

(SX 5640 7009) Hut circle attached to the inner face of an enclosure (MDV50104). Terraced into the hillslope, and of the simple plan and single orthostat walling type. The interior measures 3.4 metres in diameter and is defined by a 1.4 metre wide wall standing up to 0.9 metres high. The doorway survives as a buried feature. This hut is attached to reave (MDV50106).
Compass survey by S. Gerrard and T. Greeves of the site dated 19/03/1992.

(22/07/2020) Reave and associated features visited and recorded in project. Condition assessed by volunteer recorder as good; although vegetation encroachment is affecting site. Cattle, sheep and ponies are free to roam over this ground, but appear to be causing little visible damage. Site lies in area of dense clitter and is covered In bracken.
