Summary

Old traine, remains of old mansion. Date over entrance 1472, with the arms of swete. Wide path of cobbled flint leads to a spacious courtyard. Pond on right is fed by a spring which rises in higher ground behind the old manor house on the left. On the right are the extensive buildings forming the shippon. In front leading up to the old house are six steps of granite, hauled from dartmoor in 1664, rectangular in design. Above them is a massive gateway arch, beyond which stands the old manor house. Tudor doorway with an inner dog-gate. The buildings surround an ancient quadrangle.2-3 storey (hooppell).

Old traine, remains of old mansion. Date over entrance 1472, with the arms of swete. Wide path of cobbled flint leads to a spacious courtyard. Pond on right is fed by a spring which rises in higher ground behind the old manor house on the left. On the right are the extensive buildings forming the shippon. Vis=est -/-/1956 (doe) house now in two parts. Probably late 16th century, but much altered. Interior has 17th and 18th century panelling and exposed beams. The arch - entrance to forecourt - and the gatehouse range are both early 17th century and listed grade ii in their own right.
