Name: | Stone piles in settlement south-east of Legis Tor, Sheepstor |
---|
Summary
A semi-circle of stones, and some earthfast boulders 13.5m west of an enclosed hut settlement on the southern slope of Legis Tor, may represent partial remains of a hut circle or, more likely, a clearance heap. The overall width of the feature is 7.8m and the mound is 0.4m high. The stones are mostly small and turf covered. Originally recorded as a hut by the Ordnance Survey in 1977 (and later by Gerrard, 1993), since 2005 the identification of this feature has been questioned.
