Name:Cooking pit on north side of Hut Circle '15' at Watern Oke settlement, Dartmoor Forest

Summary

Hearth pit adjacent to Hut Circle '15' at Watern Oke settlement. The structure measures 1.5 metres in diameter and 0.3 metres deep and incudes a small orthostat lined stone filled pit. Excavations by the Dartmoor Exploration Committee in 1905 revealed that it was a fire-place, for it was burnt in several places.

Between huts '14' and '15' an area has evidently been used as a fireplace for it was burnt in several places.
