Full description

Hut 77; rather oval.3.66 metres by 3 metres. Formed of very large rough boulders. Rubbing stones and a pointed piece of quartz spar found.

Visited in 1992. Hut circle terraced into hillslope. Simple plan and rubble bank walling type. The interior measures 3 metres in diameter and is defined by a 1.3 metres wide wall standing up to 0.7 metres high. Partially excavated by the Dartmoor Exploration Committee in 1905 and this work recovered rubbing stones and a pointed piece of quartz spar.

This monument includes five stone hut circles situated on a gentle south facing slope overlooking the River Tavy and forming part of the large unenclosed stone hut circle settlement at Watern Oke.
