Full description

Anderson, I. K., 1906, 11th Report of the Dartmoor Exploration Committee, 112, hut 74 (Article in Serial). SDV337055.

Hut 74; small and rough. External diameter measures 10 feet (3m). Rubbing stone found.

(16/10/1992) Hut circle terraced into the hillslope. Simple plan and single orthostat walling type. The interior measures 2.6 metres in diameter and is defined by a 1 metre wide wall standing up to 0.8 metres high. The doorway faces south and is partly blocked with rubble. Partially excavated by the Dartmoor Exploration Committee in 1905, and this work recovered a rubbing stone.

This monument includes five stone hut circles situated on a gentle south facing slope overlooking the River Tavy and forming part of the large unenclosed stone hut circle settlement at Watern Oke.
