Full description

1992 (SX 5618 8423) This stone hut circle is linked to an enclosure boundary wall. It is terraced into the hillslope and is of the simple plan and single orthostat walling type. The interior measures 3.5m in diameter and is defined by a 1.8m wide wall standing up to 0.5m high. The doorway faces north and is lined with slabs along its eastern edge.

(27/05/2004, Fletcher M. J., English Heritage Field Investigation) Sixteen hut circles set on a fairly steep east-south-east facing moorland hillslope above a wide sheltered river valley within a fragmentary enclosure.
SX5618 8423 Internally 3.5m by 3.2m, levelled into a steep slope with heather-covered boulders up to 0.6m high. Possible entrance on north side.
