Full description

Gerrard, S., 1990-2002, Monument Protection Programme. Archaeological Item Dataset., MPP 130594 (Report - Survey). SDV277946.

1992 (SX 5616 8421) This stone hut circle is linked to an enclosure boundary wall. Survives as an earthwork, is terraced into the hillslope and is of the simple plan type. The interior measures 3m in diameter and is defined by a 1.2m wide wall standing up to 0.4m high. The doorway faces south.

(27/05/2004, Fletcher M. J., English Heritage Field Investigation) Sixteen hut circles set on a fairly steep east-south-east facing moorland hillslope above a wide sheltered river valley within a fragmentary enclosure.
SX5617 8421 Internally 3.8m by 3.4m levelled into the slope with 0.5m high front and back scarps. Coursed boulder wall up to 0.6m high. Blocked entrance on north side.
