A former quarry of post medieval to 19th century date is depicted on 19th century maps and visible as an earthwork on images derived from lidar data, near the head of a shallow combe north of Lower Dunscombe Farm, Chudleigh. The quarry was sited to exploit a local limestone deposit, probably to supply the limekiln situated immediately to the south.
The quarry is accurately depicted on the available Ordnance Survey maps and has not been transcribed by the survey.
