Visited on 11th March 1993. Stone hut circle forming part of a cluster of five stone hut circles 320 metres east of Yealm Steps. Terraced into the hillslope and of the simple plan and coursed walling type. Interior measures 7.3 metres in diameter and is defined by a 2.1 metres wide wall standing up to 0.8 metres high. Doorway survives as a partly blocked gap in the surrounding wall and faces south-south-west.

Hut Circle '17' the north-eastern of a group of five hut circles of between 5.7 and 8.0 metres dimeter to the north of the enclosures at 'Ranny Brook'. There is a short section of wall running south from the northern boundary and an entrance to the south.

This monument includes a cluster of five stone hut circles situated on the northern edge of a large stone hut circle settlement, lying on a south-facing slope overlooking the valley of the River Yealm. The stone hut circles survive as banks of stone and earth each surrounding a circular internal area. The internal diameters of these huts varies between 5.5 metres and 7.4 metres. The height of the surrounding wall varies between 0.7 metres and 1 metre. All five huts have visible doorways.
