Exeter Archaeology, 2003, East Devon Heathlands Archaeological Survey, 41-42, Part 2: Gazetteer, Site No. 144 (Report - Survey). SDV101648.
SMR describes mound 9 metres by 2.5 metres to west of parish boundary, within area enclosed by banks. Of potential prehistoric date. During field visit area under dense gorse, 0.75 metres high, and mound only visible as area of relatively high gorse. Mound detected circa 6 metres north/south by 3 metres east/west but extent impossible to define due to vegetation cover. Possible ditch detected on east and west sides. The surrounding banks referred to in SMR are north end of a formerly enclosed area/field depicted on modern 1:2500 map and Ordnance Survey 1891 1:10560 map (93NE) (see site 142).
