Full description

Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Maps and Apportionments (Website). SDV349463.

Plot 5 in the West Teignmouth tithe apportionment is described as 'Modlin Toll Bar'.

In 1839 a tollhouse owned by the Teignmouth Turnpike Trust was on the site. Two windows re-used in a late 19th century stable on the site. Toll house knocked down and replaced by a house for the cemetery.
