The valley of the main stream which flows into Soar Mill Cove appears to have been dammed - the mill may have been just downstream from the dam. There is no sign of any building, but the stream bed is full of tall reeds, as is the area which could have been the mill pond. The lower part of the valley where it meets the beach is bedrock and here there are clearly defined cartwheel ruts suggesting regular traffic up the first part of the valley - possibly to the mill.

Bodman, M., 1998, Water-Powered Sites in Devon, 20, 42 (Report - non-specific). SDV305931.

Soar Mill, on stream to Soar Mill Cove.
