At the north end of the row is a cairn which once contained a kistvaen. There is a retaining circle surrounding the cairn. Retaining kerb (diam 9.4m, heig 0.8m), cairn (diam 5.5m, heig 700mm).

Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV1004.

Vis=23/6/1976 (grinsell) cairn with retaining circle, enclosing cist. Diameter circle 9.4m, height 0.6m. Diameter cairn 6m, height 0.6m.

DAVIDSON + SEABROOK, Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV139387.

Vis=-/-/1971 brown heath. Circle surveyed and measured plan published. Just to the east of the circle is a very large prostrate stone, its original position is uncertain. Possible damage by cattle pounds (davidson + seabrook).

HANKIN, Untitled Source (Report - Survey). SDV144143.

Vis=21/7/1976 (hankin) in 1976 the circle consisted of nine large stones, the largest being the most northerly. Four other stones, some only fragments, showed the line of the circle. The remains of the cairn within the circle was c.50cm in height, and was hollow centred. There was no indication of a cist.

Vis=14/1/1978 (os). The cairn is encircled by a peristalith of 13 stones with a max diam of 1m. Two are recumbent. The cairn is 0.8m high and is not central within the circle. The cist, again eccentric, has been robbed (rchme, citing os).

Visited 23/06/1976 Retaining circle mentioned by Grinsell in the locality of Brown Heath at SX64106532. Diameter is recorded as 9.4 meters and it is recorded in conjunction with a cairn that encloses a cist. Circle is said to be “well clear of cairn”.
