Small 'Quarry' shown on 19th century map on the east side of the track with a spoil heap to the south.
Newman, P., 2006, Holne Chase Tin Mine, Holne, Devon: An Archaeological Survey, 10, Figure 2 (Report - Survey). SDV359868.
A large pit with associated spoil heap is located near the top of the Chase to the north-east of the openwork at Holne Chase Tin Mine. It may represent an attempt at tracing the lode at a higher point, though certainly unsuccessfully. 'Shaft' shown on Figure 2 to the north-east of the mine.
