(21/04/1950) One of three mounds. These are not antiquities and probably originated when these fields reclaimed from the moor - all the stones being gathered in dumps. This was confirmed on examining one of the mounds that had been partially cut into. It contained very small stones and shale, quite unlike normal composition of a cairn, i.e.: large stones.

Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1977, SX66NE8 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV151740.

(20/07/1977) 'B' SX 68476756 A mound, 22m by 15 m and 1.3 m high. It consists of small stones, now turf covered, and has an irregular profile.
These mounds are on the lower moor slopes, 310 m above OD, and within modern enclosures which are used for permanent pasture. They are probably field clearance heaps, a view which seems to be confirmed by the absence of finds when 'A' was destroyed.

Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England, 1985, Aerial Photograph Project (Dartmoor) - Dartmoor Pre-NMP (Cartographic). SDV319854.

Visible (1946 image).

Ordnance Survey, 2012, MasterMap (Cartographic). SDV348725.

Cairn is depicted on the modern mapping.
