Field Investigation on 26th June 1977. Three cairns lie on a steep south west facing slope between
395 metres and 380 metres above OD.
Field Investigation on 6th January 1997. Cairn 'B' at SX67726904 is a round cairn measures 8.5 metres diameter and
0.5 metres high. It has a rectangular trench, 2.3 metres by 1.6 metres and 0.3 metres deep dug into its centre. It forms part of a linear progression of cairns running roughly south-east to north-west across the hillside parallel to the River Mardle.

The monument, which falls into four areas of protection, includes four cairns, forming part of a cairn cemetery situated on a gentle south facing slope overlooking the valley of River Mardle. The easternmost cairn is 8.4 metres in diameter and stands up to 1 metre high. Hollows and trenches cutting into all four cairns indicate that they have been subjected to early undocumented investigations.
