Name:Huts A and B in settlement on Hingston Hill, Walkhampton

Summary

Recorded as two huts (A and B) by the ordnance Survey in 1950, this was recorded by Gerrard in 1993 as a conjoined hut. Western hut (Hut A) with a curving wall to the east (remains of Hut B?) is visible on 2015-17 aerial photographs. Huts have a conjoined plan and double orthostat walling. Interior of the west room measures 3 metres in diameter and is defined by a 1.3 metre wide wall standing up to 1.1 metres high. A large earthfast boulder is incorporated into the north wall of this room. The east room measures 4 metres in diameter and is surrounded by a 1 metre wide and 0.8 metre high wall.

SX58436902 (Hut 6/A and B on sketch plan) Hut circle situated within an enclosure. Terraced into the hillslope and is of the conjoined plan and double orthostat walling type. Interior of the west room measures 3 metres in diameter and is defined by a 1.3 metre wide wall standing up to 1.1 metres high. A large earthfast boulder is incorporated into the north wall of this room. The east room measures 4 metres in diameter and is surrounded by a 1 metre wide and 0.8 metre high wall.

One of fourteen hut circles ranging in size from 2.5 metres to 7.1 metres. This hut is shown as hut circle with a semi-circular feature on the east side.
