Summary

Hut circle terraced into hillslope and of the simple plan and rubble bank walling type. Interior measures 4.7 metres in diameter and is defined by a 1.3 metres wide wall standing up to 0.7 metres high. Doorway survives as a gap in the surrounding wall and faces west. Attached to a length of enclosure boundary wall.

One of ten hut circles of 3.4 to 4.3 metres diameter within Settlement 'A' at Newleycombe Lake Head. This hut is on the east side of the main enclosure and on the south side of the leat.

(01/08/2006) Hut Circle 12: SX 5969 6983 Built into the northeast section of the large enclosure wall is a Hut Circle, 4.8 m in diameter with walls 1.4 m wide. The silhouette of this feature appears to outline a fairly sharp rounded corner within the enclosure wall. Another stretch of walling appears to continue north from this point towards Drivage Bottom Stream, perhaps an indication of another enclosure. Unfortunately, the site is heavily disguised by vegetation, although some stone is still visible.
