Summary

Hut built into the enclosure walls of an ovoid enclosure (MDV52414). Two hut circles are built into the enclosure walls and this southern one is less well preserved than MDV52413. It has a diameter of approximately 6.0 metres. Parts of the wall remain in situ though most are displaced.

Hut circle situated within a partially enclosed hut settlement. Terraced into the hillslope and of the simple plan and single orthostat walling type. Interior measures 5.0 metres in diameter and is defined by a 1.7 metre wide wall standing up to 1.1 metres high. This hut is linked to the boundary wall of a small circular enclosure.

Hut Circle '2' of 5.5 metres diameter is a double walled building on the south side of the small enclosure at 'Down Tor North'.

(Visited 01/08/2006) A group of 10 hut circles and a small enclosure on the moderate north slope of Down Tor. The ovoid enclosure (MDV52414) SX 5801 6974 covers approximately 590 square metres but has been badly disturbed by post-med pitworks. The walls consist of now displaced granite moorstone built into turf banks. Two hut circles are built into the enclosure walls and the northern of these is the better preserved. It has a diameter 5.8 metres and comprises a circle of in situ orthostats. The interior is not level.
The second enclosure hut has a diameter of approximately 6.0 metres (MDV52412). Parts of the wall remain in situ though most are displaced.
