Summary

A group of eight hut circles are clustered around the north and west margins of a small enclosure on the moderate south-east facing slope of Huntingdon Warren. The huts are all slightly ovoid and they are relatively large with diameters in the range of 4.3 metres to 7.2 metres. Four have well-defined entrances either in the east or south sides and all are terraced into the slope.

(08/07/1977) Centred SX 66336639 An open settlement of six probably Type 1 hut circles lies on a moderate, well drained south-east facing slope at 395 metres above OD and may be associated with the enclosed settlement between them. The hut circles have an average internal diameter of 6.5 metres with walls 1.5 metres thick constructed mostly of small boulders. Three have entrances in the south-east quadrant and two are cut back into the slope. There is no indication of cultivation in the vicinity which is mainly clear of clitter. 1:10 000 Survey revised.

Hut circle at SX 6633266419 of 5.5 metres diameter with walls 1.7 metres wide and 0.7 metres high. Eastern entrance. Disturbed by later drainage channel.

Site visited on 11th January 1961. 4-5 hut circles above enclosure.
Three enclosed hut groups at Huntingdon Warren. The settlement survives as three discrete, massively built pounds of varying size defined by walls which measure up to 3 metres wide and over 1 metre high, all of which contain stone hut circles. A further seven stone hut circles lie outside these enclosures. There are up to 24 stone hut circles which vary in diameter internally from 2.2 metres to 7.2 metres. Seventeen of the huts are enclosed and of these 12 are attached to enclosure walls.
