HER Number:MDV5250
Name:Stone near Huntingdon Warren, Dartmoor Forest

Summary

On the moor opposite the warren, across the Western Wellabrook, there are some ruined mine buildings. One of these, near a long wheel pit, has been converted into a "church-like" building, the "chancel" being approached by steps. In the "chancel" a stone bearing an incised cross has been set up, and presents an ancient appearance. The stone and cross are, however, modern, set up in recent years by two clergymen on holiday in the vicinity.
