Name:Leat on the south-western flank of Smith Hill

Summary

A poorly defined leat channel runs NW-SE from Crane Lake across the SW flank of Smith Hill towards Smith Hill farmhouse (SX 67 NW 186). Measuring a maximum of 0.8m wide and 0.2m deep it cuts two abandoned earth and stone field boundaries and an area of 18th or 19th century ridge and furrow (SX 67 NW 189). Between SX 63017574 and SX 63077563 its course has been disturbed and is not traceable on the ground.
