Summary

Small rectangular building. It measures 3.6 metres east-west by 2 metres internally with a crudely constructed apparently robbed, wall of irregular boulders and stones. The eastern downhill side is open. Its purpose and period are not known but it is probably a post-medieval bothy or shepherds hut.

(18/06/1994) SX 64257997 Building.
Situated in an area of rough grass and rocky outcrops at about 405m OD and 60m due E of the summit of Hartyland Tor are the footings of a small rectangular building. It measures 3.6m east-west by 2m internally with a crudely constructed apparently robbed, wall of irregular boulders and stones. The east downhill side is open. Its purpose and period are not known but it is probably a post medieval bothy or shepherds hut.
