Summary

Vis=15/8/1989 (rchm) set into a garden wall at hartyland on the n side of a garden gate is a single slotted gatepost 1.7m high, 0.4m wide and 0.3m thick (worths type a with the remains of 2 rectangular slots in its e face. It is probably an unfinished or damaged post and not in situ (rchm).

(15/08/1989) SX 64437952 Slotted gateposts.
Two slotted gateposts, not in situ, are set in a modern wall in an accessway between two enclosed gardens at Hartyland.
The E post 1.5m high and 0.2m thick is Worth's Type A (1953) having five rectangular slots on its S face. The second post 3.1m to the W is 1.2m high, 0.3m wide and 0.2m thick. It is of Worth's type B (1953) having four 'L' slots in its N face. Its top is broken.
