Hunt, D., 2006, River Axe Defences (Correspondence). SDV325537.

The pillbox to the north of the Whitford bridge is a Type 24 and has a shell proof porch. In this case the loophole appears to have had a large steel shutter possibly for a MMG (although the 'table' provided is too small for the Vickers tripod). Shutter would have been similar to the ones at Forton at NGR ST34300691.

Wessex Archaeology, 2007, Historic Environment Audit of Devon County Farms. Pilot Project. Results of Waterford Farm, Musbury, 7 (Report - Assessment). SDV338613.

Pillbox shown.
