Possibly location of Guard hut, Passmore places the hut at SX9570087366. Structure is not in position indicated on No. 60 Groups plan of 1942. Possible that the hut indicated on the plan did not materialise or was a temporary building predating that now seen.
The hut is a rectangular brick structure (English bond) and measures 4.27 by 2.71 by 2.47 metres. It stands on a concrete base (visible within the hut) and has a shuttered concrete roof. There is a door-opening on the west side with a blue-painted wooden frame. A blue-painted door, now detached, was at the time of the survey on the floor inside the hut. Windows on four sides have concrete lintels, brick sills and metal frames. They are blocked on the outside. The east wall has a cast-iron flue exiting from a now-removed interior stove.
An Ordnance Survey benchmark is etched into the brickwork at the base of the south-west corner.
