Full description

Robinson, R., 1976, Untitled Source (Worksheet). SDV147523.

Circular mound 12 meters in diameter, 1.0 meter high consisting of small stones. This cairn has been much robbed, and is located 45 meters from the field boundary. Other details: Scanned parish files.

Grinsell, L. V., 1978, Dartmoor Barrows, 138 (Article in Serial). SDV273224.

(Visited June 1977) SX 69796554 Cairn sited on hill slope on arable and crowned by stoneheap. Diameter 11m, height of cairn 0.6m, total height 1.2m.
One hundred metres to the east and SE are two stoneheaps which look recent.

Quinnell, N. V., 1979, Survey of features on Skerraton Down (Report - Survey). SDV144141.

Hut circle A. SX69756558 On a slight north slope; the overall diameter is 14.3 metres and height 0.8 metres. There is a rim 4.0 metres to 5.5 metres wide and 0.3 metres high with a 1.5 metre gap on the north side.
The interior approximately 4.5 metres across, is, like the gap, infilled with modern rubble.

This site was considered for designation as a Scheduled Ancient Monument during the Monument Protection Programme. The programme ended before the entire list of sites was successfully scheduled so this is included on a local list of Nationally Important Sites.
