  • SHINE: Pupers Reave and Pupers Rock Cairn. Earthwork and stone remains of a Bronze Age reave, enclosure with hut circle and cairns across Buckfastleigh and Dean Moors bisected by 16th-17th century openworks on western side of Lambs Down

Full description

Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1977, SX66NE64 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV173636.

A possible cairn on Dean Moor; a peaty mound 8.0 meters in diameter, 0.5 meters high. No evidence of kerb or ditch.

Pitted cairn measuring 6.5 meters in diameter by 0.3 meters in height.

This site was considered for designation as a Scheduled Ancient Monument during the Monument Protection Programme. The programme ended before the entire list of sites was successfully scheduled so this is included on a local list of Nationally Important Sites.
