Name:Bank north of Little Newtake Plantation

Summary

A turf and stone bank within enclosed land on the steep north-east facing slope 600m south-east of Laughter Hole House. The bank measures between 2.5m and 3.5m wide and stands to a maximum height of 0.6m. It possesses a ditch 1.8m wide and up to 0.7m deep on its north side. This feature is probably of 19th century origin and formerly acted as a subdivision of Winford Newtake.

Royal Commission for the Historical Monuments of England, 1993-1998, Dartmoor Royal Forest Project (Report - Survey). SDV346608.

(15/11/1993) SX 66377520 to SX 66487526. A turf and stone bank within enclosed land on the steep north-east facing slope 600m south-east of Laughter Hole House. The bank measures between 2.5m and 3.5m wide and stands to a maximum height of 0.6m. It possesses a ditch 1.8m wide and up to 0.7m deep on its north side.
This feature is probably of 19th century origin and formerly acted as a subdivision of Winford Newtake.
