An irregular shaped depression circa 16 by 20 metres is visible as an earthwork on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2019. The depression is situated on a north facing slope on the edge of Battens Wood.
The depression corresponds with a linear plot recorded as a garden on the Tithe Map. It corresponds with a labelled quarry and depicted earthworks on the Ordnance Survey 25 inch First Edition and historic and modern maps thereafter.
The depression is interpreted as an extractive pit of 19th century origin.
