MARISTOW QUAY ON RIVER TAVY SHOWN ON OS (1890) MAP. PLATFORM OF MORTARED SMALL STONE RUBBLE WITH GRANITE COPING STONES. IRON RINGS SET INTO COPING STONES ALONG EDGE OF QUAY. CENTRAL GRANITE STEPS DOWN TO FORESHORE AND ANOTHER SET AT S END DOWN TO FRONT OF BOAT HOUSE. A QUAY WAS RECORDED HERE IN 1294 WHEN SILVER SHIPPED FROM BERE FERRERS MINES TO LONDON (DYER + MANNING).

Reference to quay being used in conjunction with the mining industry, as well as in the construction and upkeep of Marisotw house iteself. The references made to the quay imply that it was a deep water quay during the middle ages.
