Account roll of 1426-7 lists "4+lbs iron rent from william smalhach. For one tenement. On wolmyngton [woonton]". Info. From r. Carter, m. Parmiter, p. Wood. R. Carter believes they have seen tap slag at wonton farm. Roman tile has also been found here (emafu). Vis=14/2/1995 (ea) landowner aware of slag elsewhere on blackdowns but has never found any on his farm (ea).
