Vis=-/-/1974 (pearce) in the nw corner of this field next to a goyle is an area of rusty coloured soil. Also great quantities of iron slag of two different sorts. Also found over rest of field but to a lesser degree. Two large areas of darker soil occur nearby. See st20nw/199 for scatter from this field that includes medieval pottery (worksheet).
