Summary

A possible hut circle of probable Bronze Age to Iron Age date is recorded from field investigation and aerial survey as an earthwork on the south-west facing slopes of Lee Moor. The hut circle is one of 8 associated with a prehistoric enclosure north of Cholwichtown Clay Works.
The earthwork is visible on digital images derived from aerial photographs of 2002 onwards.

Hut C. Conjoined plan and double orthostat walling type. Interior measures 5.1 metres in diameter and is defined by a 1.8 metre wide wall standing up to 0.8 metres high. Attached to the inner face of the enclosure boundary wall and huts B and D.

A curvilinear bank up to circa 1m wide and 6m long is visible as a stony earthwork on digital images derived from aerial photographs from 2002 onwards.
The bank defines a small D-shaped enclosure up to roughly 3.7m across, abutting the interior of the north-west side of the boundary bank of the enclosure MDV2425 and the north-east edge of an adjacent hut circle recorded as MDV53378.
The visible earthwork is interpreted as the remains of a possible small hut circle of probable Bronze Age. It is one of 8 associated with the larger enclosure MDV2425.
The hut circle has been transcribed as part of enclosure MDV2425.
