Full description

Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.

Farmstead depicted.

Pynamead is shown as a group of buildings around an irregular shaped yard with a small detached building to the northwest and another building to the east at SS67631697. Orchards are shown to the north and east and a well to the north at SS67591700. Tracks lead north and east.

Pynamead is first recorded as Panezhemede in 1308. The name means pennyland, ie land valued at a penny a year.
